There are billions of searches being performed every day on the Internet in the United States and all across the world. Some of these searches are taking place right in your area. People are looking for businesses on the Internet these days and are putting aside their Yellow Pages. Every day customers are searching the Internet for your type of business and contacting your competitors. Wouldn't you like to get a piece of this pie and have the chance to show these people why they should choose you over your competition?
The only way to do this is to get on the first page of Google. Most people will never take the time to click over to the second page, let alone the third or fourth. Your only chance of getting noticed on the Internet is to rank your site as high as you possibly can on the first page. Everything else is a far cry from second best.
A lot of them are quite shocked to find out that people are not visiting their site and buying their goods or services. In the past you could put up a site and count on visitors. That is no longer a viable option, since the Internet has taken off and your competitors are scrambling to get to the top. You need to put yourself into this race to keep up.
The Internet gives you the chance to get traffic and leads from people that want to buy your service. When you put your website near the top of Google you will receive targeted traffic that is interested in what you have to offer. If you aren't there, who will they do business with?
While it's fine to send out flyers and put ads in newspapers, what happens when these ads expire and the flyers get tossed out? You'll need to do a new round of advertising to keep getting new customers. It is an endless cycle of advertising that is costly. The people you are reaching are not targeted either; it is more of a hit and miss situation.
